Gary Jaffarian has spent the majority of his life in the automotive business. His grandparents started the Jaffarian Service business, initially selling gas and oil, and expanding to sell Hudson and Rambler automobiles. It was this first generation of Jaffarians, Fred and Alice, who built a service business, not just in name but in terms of values and commitment to hard work and superior customer service that set the tone for the generations to follow. Gary's father, Richard Jaffarian, took his knowledge of the automotive business and spent countless hours researching automakers to identify the best quality of vehicles to bring to the Merrimack Valley. His research and foresight led to the opening of Jaffarian Volvo, the first Volvo dealership in New England. Using the same approach, Richard took a chance on a company out of Japan-- Toyota-- and in 1962 opened up the first Toyota dealership in New England. With these two monumental openings, the Jaffarian brand continued to grow, building off the strong foundation put in place by Fred and Alice Jaffarian.
Gary was watching and learning, and he began to work alongside his father from elementary school through high school. While studying at Northern Essex Community College and Merrimack College, Gary continued to work and learn from his father. As a result Gary, along with his two brothers, Mark and Paul Jaffarian, acquired the same passion for customer service and the incredible work ethic that had started with their grandparents. The three Jaffarian boys continued to learn and grow within the business led by their hardworking father and grandfather.
For Gary, he naturally gravitated to helping customers [linked to custom reviews page] make the best decision for their needs and budget. For him, sales has always been about listening to the customer. Gary became President, while his brother Paul built a renowned part department and Mark built a body shop recognized by all leading automobile insurers as top notch. Together, they continued the commitment to giving back to the community and cemented the position of Jaffarian as a pillar of the Haverhill community. With the knowledge that was instilled by their grandfather Fred and father Richard, the Jaffarian brothers continued the values and commitment to excellence in what has become known as the "Jaffarian Way" and has helped many customers answer the question, "Why Jaffarian?"
Helping the Merrimack Valley and North Shore Communities
One of the most important aspects of the Jaffarian Automotive Group is our belief in the importance of helping, and giving back to our local communities. That commitment has always existed and Gary as President has ensured that the commitment endures. For years, the Jaffarian family has given back with a common focus of helping local youth. The Jaffarian family led by Gary has generously donated money to help build new athletic facilities and maintain existing facilities at Haverhill High School, as well as donated money to athletic programs throughout the Merrimack Valley as part of the Game On Program to promote involvement in high school sports by offsetting user fees. From food drives, clothing drives, and school supplies drives, Gary has made sure that Jaffarian Toyota Volvo actively participates and takes a leadership role in bettering our community with a focus on kids.
