Enthusiasts Just Might See a Toyota Supra Successor

Any longtime enthusiasts remember the Toyota Supra? It's been almost twelve years now since the stretched-out sports car rolled off the assembly line. Since the model's end, Toyota has been carefully toying around with the idea of introducing Supra offspring. However, dedicated auto fans also know that Toyota has flipped the switch several times on a new sports coupe concept with nothing coming close to production. Until now that is...

Jaffarian Toyota serving Haverhill is pleased to share that Toyota might finally be green-lighting a Supra successor after all. How do we know? Well, for one, a little birdie told us that a certain Toyota CEO is a rather large fan of sports cars and a huge supporter of a new speedy Toyota offering. One Motortrend auto expert notes, "...if Toyoda has his way and the economy shows continued signs of recovery, the new coupe could be on showroom floors by late 2015..."1

In order to get a better idea of what exactly this new sports coupe will potentially look like, Jaffarian Toyota scanned the web and dug up a rather intriguing illustration. Drawn as one automotive artist's interpretation of the forthcoming coming Supra successor and based off official Toyota remarks, the model image shows sharper angles and bolder edges. Industry experts believe the new model will take advantage of an all-wheel-drive system and pump out upwards of 400 hp.

As for the gear powering those ponies, the Toyota sports car is suspected to take in a 3.5-liter V-6 hybrid system married to a performance-tuned CVT. Unlike other gas-electric setups, the model-in-question's drivetrain would send power to the rear via the engine and power to the front via electric motors that are actually set in the wheels.

Though we're all on the edge of our seats waiting for Toyota to give the go-ahead, Jaffarian Toyota is more than happy to answer any questions regarding this or other new Toyota models in the meantime.
