Each year J.D. Power and Associates holds what's known as an "Initial Quality Study" where they gather data from actual car owners about any problems with their vehicles. They then compare specific models against an industry average for every 100 vehicles sold.

We at Jaffarian Toyota have heard nothing but positive reviews about the Toyota brand from our loyal customers. But, just as we're sure you are, we were still curious about the results from J.D. Power and Associates.

It turns out that the findings were pretty consistent with our expectations. Toyota placed eighth, overall, with 88 problems per 100 vehicles sold (the industry average was 102 problems per 100 vehicles sold). In terms of specific models, The Toyota Corolla was first and the Toyota Prius, second in the Compact Car portion, The Prius also placed second in the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle segment and the Toyota Avalon came in second for Large Cars.

Ray Tanguay, Senior Vice President and Chief Quality Officer of Toyota Motor North America, Inc. says he is very pleased with this year's Initial Quality Study honors. "These accolades echo our enduring commitment to quality, value and customer satisfaction," Tanguay said. ¹
